Porvorim, Goa, December 14, 2024 – The Department of Home (General), Government of Goa, has officially announced the recipients of the prestigious Chief Minister’s Police (Gold) Medal for Meritorious Service, to be awarded on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, December 19, 2024. The awards recognize the outstanding contributions and dedication of police officers who have excelled in their duties.
The following police officers and officials have been selected for the honor this year:
1. Shri Nerlon Albuquerque, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), SDPO Porvorim
2. Shri Vishwesh P. Karpe, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), ANC Panaji
3. Shri Rahul T. Parab, Police Inspector (P.I.), Porvorim Police Station
4. Shri Vinayak V. Karekar, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), Office of Superintendent of Police North, Porvorim
5. Shri Bhimrao T. Gaude, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Special Branch Centre, Ponda
6. Shri Videsh M. Naik, Head Constable (HC-5775), Vasco Police Station
7. Shri Krishnanath H. Chodankar, Police Constable (PC-5961), Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Detention Centre, Mapusa
The awards are a testament to the recipients’ unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, their exceptional service to the public, and their professionalism in the line of duty.
The Under Secretary of the Department of Home (General), Shri Manesh Hari Kedar, has requested the Protocol and Hospitality Department to arrange a formal ceremony to honor the awardees on Goa Liberation Day. The medals will be presented in the presence of senior officials and dignitaries, celebrating the 63rd anniversary of Goa’s liberation from Portuguese rule.
This recognition highlights the Government’s commitment to encouraging exemplary service within the police force and fostering a spirit of dedication among officers across the state.
