Pakistani Hackers Target Indian Defence Websites, Claim Access to Sensitive Data
New Delhi, May 5: In a major cybersecurity alert, Pakistani hacker group “Pakistan Cyber Force” (PCF) has allegedly targeted multiple Indian defence-related websites. According to reliable defence sources, the group claims to have gained unauthorized access to sensitive data from the Indian Military Engineering Service and the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis.
The data breach allegedly includes confidential information and personal details of defence personnel, including login credentials—raising serious concerns about the potential misuse of sensitive defence data.
In a further act of cyber aggression, the same group attempted to deface the official website of Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited (AVNL), a key organisation under the Indian defence sector. The defaced version of the website displayed the Pakistani flag and an image of the Al Khalid tank, a combat vehicle used by the Pakistan Army. Following this, AVNL’s website was immediately taken offline as a precautionary measure.
Cybersecurity experts and national cyber agencies are actively monitoring the situation. Enhanced surveillance and protective measures are being implemented across defence digital infrastructure to detect and prevent further attacks.
Officials have not confirmed the extent of the data breach, but internal assessments are underway to evaluate the impact and secure the compromised systems.
This incident underscores the growing threat of cyber warfare and the need for robust cybersecurity frameworks within critical government infrastructure.
