All-Party Meeting on Operation Sindoor: Government Briefs Opposition, PM Modi Urges National Unity

New Delhi, May 8:In the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India convened an all-party meeting in Parliament today to brief opposition leaders on the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. The meeting was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and attended by leaders from across the political spectrum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a strong and unifying stand during the meeting, urging all political parties and citizens to set aside differences in the face of national security. “Every Indian citizen needs to stand united,” the Prime Minister asserted, marking his first public remarks after the operation. He emphasized that the courage and precision shown by the Indian Armed Forces should instill pride and inspire collective resolve across the nation.

During the briefing, senior government leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, informed the attendees about the scope and success of the operation. Nine terror camps—located deep inside Pakistani territory in Bahawalpur and Muridke—were destroyed in precision strikes, making Operation Sindoor one of India’s most extensive cross-border counter-terror operations to date.

Sources revealed that opposition parties were shown satellite imagery and intelligence data, including visuals of missiles targeting and eliminating key terror hideouts, some of which were reportedly embedded within religious structures used as shields.

Among the key attendees were BJP President J.P. Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav, TMC’s Sudip Bandyopadhyay, DMK’s T.R. Baalu, LJP leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, TDP’s Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha, NCP’s Praful Patel, NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule, Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut, CPI(M)’s Jhon Brittas, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, and RJD’s Prem Chand Gupta.

Leaders from all parties lauded the bravery and effectiveness of the Armed Forces. The Opposition, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, praised the precision of the strikes and reaffirmed support for any firm action taken to defend national security. The Prime Minister’s call for unity was echoed by several party leaders, creating a rare moment of political solidarity in the fight against terrorism.

This meeting comes as India asserts a zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border terrorism, with Operation Sindoor being projected not just as a military response but a strategic and diplomatic statement.
