Panaji, Goa: Young Og Kim, the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, recently paid an official visit to Goa, where he met with the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, to discuss collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and strengthening ties between Goa and South Korea.
During their discussions, significant emphasis was placed on the possibility of setting up electronic components manufacturing and automobile ancillary units in Goa. The initiative aims to leverage South Korea’s technological expertise and attract investment in the state while creating opportunities for young Goan entrepreneurs. This collaboration is expected to boost Goa’s industrial base and provide a platform for local talent to engage in cutting-edge sectors.
In addition to industrial development, the two leaders explored avenues to promote tourism between South Korea and Goa. Discussions included introducing regular chartered flights from Korea to Goa, which could potentially increase tourist inflow and open up new cultural and economic exchanges.
Young Og Kim highlighted the mutual benefits of such partnerships and assured continued dialogue to bring these discussions to fruition.
