Vijai Sardesai Urges Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to Give Goans First Preference in Postal Recruitment
Panaji, 28th August 2025: Goa Forward Party President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has written to Union Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia demanding that Goans be given first preference in recruitment as postmen in Goa.
Sardesai stressed that local familiarity with addresses, dialects, and community networks is crucial for ensuring efficient and reliable postal service delivery.
“Recruiting Goans is not just about providing employment, it’s about ensuring better service for the people of Goa,” he said.
If administrative constraints make exclusive recruitment of Goans difficult, Sardesai has strongly urged the creation of a separate Postal Circle for Goa.
This would allow localized administration, accountability, and staffing that reflects the unique needs of the state.
“Goa deserves a postal system that understands its people and its culture. A separate Postal Circle will ensure efficiency and representation in one stroke,” Sardesai added.
