Urban Development Milestone: Inauguration of Mapusa Municipal Commercial Complex Marks New Era for City
Mapusa, Goa – June 6, 2025:
In a landmark moment for urban development in Goa, Hon’ble Urban Development Minister and Chairman of GSUDA Shri Vishwajit P. Rane, along with Mapusa MLA and Deputy Speaker Shri Joshua Peter De Souza and Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, inaugurated the newly renovated Commercial Complex of the Mapusa Municipal Garage today.
This state-of-the-art infrastructure project represents a major step toward revitalizing the heart of Mapusa. Designed with a vision to promote local commerce and enhance public convenience, the complex stands as a modern commercial hub while respecting the city’s heritage.
The newly completed complex features Basement + 7 floors:
- Basement: Reserved for spacious parking
- Ground & First Floors: Home to 21 commercial shops
- Second to Sixth Floors: Include 60 well-designed office spaces, each equipped with individual or common toilets and ample parking facilities
“This facility is not just a structure—it’s a gateway to opportunity,” said Shri Vishwajit P. Rane, emphasizing the government’s vision of enabling economic growth and creating citizen-friendly infrastructure across Goa.
The inauguration also witnessed the unveiling of the renovated Old Municipal Building, now seamlessly integrated with the new commercial space—preserving Mapusa’s legacy while embracing modernity. The complex is expected to boost administrative efficiency and commercial activity in the region.
