Teachers Training Workshop – QUEST Organised by Lions Club of Dabolim

The Lions Club of Dabolim successfully hosted a two-day Teachers Training Workshop, QUEST, on 30th November and 1st December 2024 at Keshav Smruti High School, Dabolim. Over 30 teachers from schools in Dabolim, Sancoale, and Cortalim participated in the program, which focused on the topic “Skills for Adolescence.”

The training was led by Smt. Kavita Shastri, a renowned national trainer from Mangaluru, as the Pilot Faculty, with Smt. Sindhu from Kerala serving as the Assistant Faculty. The interactive sessions aimed at equipping educators with tools to better guide adolescents during their formative years.

The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Function on Sunday evening. Mrs. Sylvia D’Souza, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Education, graced the event as the Chief Guest. PMJF Lion Jai Amol Naik, 1st Vice District Governor, served as the Guest of Honour, while Dr. Lion Shanbhag, QUEST District Coordinator, was the Special Guest.

In her address, Mrs. Sylvia D’Souza commended the Lions Club of Dabolim for organising such a meaningful and timely training program. She also lauded the commitment of teachers who attended the workshop despite it being held on the weekend.

Lion Jai Amol Naik appreciated the club’s efforts and urged the Chief Guest to explore possibilities of incorporating such training into the school syllabus. Dr. Shanbhag expressed gratitude to the club for organising the program efficiently and pledged continued support for future initiatives.

The event commenced with a welcome speech by Lion Eddie Fernandes, President of Lions Club of Dabolim, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Lion Joyce Fernandes, Coordinator of the program. Certificates were distributed to all participating teachers.

The Valedictory Function was also attended by Smt. Sushma Korgaonkar, Headmistress of Keshav Smruti High School, along with Lion Ritu Arolkar, Region Chairperson, and Lion Harish Kumar, Zone Chairperson. Guests and members of the Lions Club of Dabolim gathered in large numbers, adding to the event’s success.

This initiative underscores the Lions Club’s commitment to empowering educators and fostering skill development among adolescents.
