Olencio Simoes Urges Immediate Action from State Administration as Crime Wave Hits Cortalim Constituency

Cortalim, Goa

In a scathing critique of the State Administration, Olencio Simoes has lambasted the authorities for the deteriorating law and order situation in Cortalim constituency. Over the past year, the region has witnessed a surge in criminal activities, including chain snatchings and multiple bike robberies in every village, raising concerns about the safety of the residents.

The latest shockwave came today as the Infant Jesus Academy School at Velsao fell victim to the same fate, further highlighting the brazenness of criminals who seem to have found a safe haven in Cortalim. The lack of decisive action in response to previous incidents has emboldened the perpetrators, turning the constituency into a target for criminal activities.

Speaking on the alarming situation, Olencio Simoes questioned the safety of Cortalim for its villagers. He drew attention to a similar incident in Prial Vaddo at Velsao, where robbers entered and ransacked a house, intensifying concerns about the vulnerability of the constituency.

Expressing his dismay, Olencio Simoes demanded immediate intervention from the Honourable Home Minister, Dr. Promod Sawant. He emphasized the urgent need for concrete measures to bring the culprits to justice, as the unchecked rise in criminal activities poses a serious threat to the well-being of the community.

“The residents of Cortalim constituency deserve to live in a safe and secure environment. The recent spate of crimes, including the shocking incident at Infant Jesus Academy School, underscores the urgency of the situation. It is imperative that the State Administration takes swift and decisive action to apprehend the criminals responsible for these acts,” asserted Olencio Simoes.

He further urged the Home Minister to implement effective strategies to curb the growing menace, as failure to address the current situation promptly could pave the way for more heinous crimes in the future. The call for action comes at a critical juncture when the community is looking to the government to restore a sense of security and normalcy in the troubled constituency.

As the people of Cortalim await a response from the authorities, the spotlight remains firmly on the need for immediate and robust measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.
