15th March 2024, Goa: The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) recently organized a seminar focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) interested in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) in Goa. The event aimed to shed light on the process and benefits of SME listing on the stock exchange, fostering economic growth and development in the region.
Attended by prominent figures including Mr. Shrinivas Dempo, along with NSE office bearers, the seminar emphasized the significant potential SMEs hold in contributing to the country’s economy through stock exchange listings.
Mr. Shrinivas Dempo, a notable presence at the event, urged SMEs to seize the opportunity to list their companies on the NSE. He emphasized the importance of accessing the capital markets for growth and expansion, citing the numerous benefits such a move could bring to SMEs in terms of visibility, access to funds, and credibility.
Moreover, Mr. Dempo called upon the Goa government to provide incentives to corporations willing to list on the exchange. He highlighted the importance of governmental support in fostering a conducive environment for SMEs to thrive, suggesting that incentives akin to those offered by other states could significantly encourage SME participation in stock market listings.
Harish Ahuja, Senior Vice President at NSE India, expressed optimism regarding the potential of Goan SMEs. He stressed the importance of seeing Goan SMEs listed in the NSE index in the near future, envisioning a scenario where these enterprises play a significant role in the stock market, driving economic growth not just in Goa but also on a national scale.
