Special Drive on Social Welfare Schemes Begins Across Goa Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa 2.0 Initiative

Goa: In a significant step towards empowering the people of Goa, Hon’ble Chief Minister has launched a special outreach drive from May 2, 2025, onwards across various Municipal Councils and Village Panchayats under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa 2.0 flagship programme. The initiative focuses on promoting and facilitating access to various welfare schemes run by the Social Welfare Department.
The Department of Social Welfare, under the leadership of Director Ajit Panchwadkar, is spearheading this drive with the cooperation of local governing bodies and key officials across the state. The campaign is aimed especially at senior citizens, persons with disabilities, SC/ST/OBC communities, economically weaker sections, students, and all stakeholders of local governance.
The drive is scheduled to be conducted in more than 35 Municipalities and Village Panchayats throughout May 2025, including prominent locations such as:
- 06-05-2025: V.P. Dhargal
- 12-05-2025: V.P. Torxem
- 13-05-2025: V.P. Casarvarnem
- 16-05-2025: Valpoi Municipal Council
- 17-05-2025: Mapusa Municipal Council
- 20-05-2025: Ponda Municipal Council
- 24-05-2025: Cuncolim Municipal Council
- 27-05-2025: Sankahli Municipal Council
- 31-05-2025: V.P. Darbandora
Additional venues include Mormugao, Margao, Quepem, Panaji, Curchorem-Cacora, Mandrem, Shristal, Meira, Curdi, Carmona, Old Goa, Bogmalo, and many more.
The programme involves the active participation of Swayampurna Mitras, Nodal Officers, Chief Officers, BDOs, Panchayat Secretaries, Gram Sevaks, Talathis, and other local authorities, who will ensure that eligible beneficiaries are made aware of and enrolled in available welfare schemes.
Citizens are urged to participate and take full advantage of the government’s schemes and services being brought directly to their localities through this dedicated initiative.
