PM Strongly Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack in Jammu & Kashmir
Pahalgam, J&K | 22 April 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a heinous and inhuman act. The attack occurred this afternoon in the Baisaran forest area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where unidentified terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists, leaving several injured and reportedly causing casualties.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, PM Modi expressed deep anguish and solidarity with the victims:
“I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice… they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger.”
President Droupadi Murmu also expressed her shock, terming the attack as “dastardly and inhuman.” She conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who held an emergency video conference with security agencies and later left for Srinagar, affirmed that the perpetrators “will not be spared.” He is expected to lead a high-level security review to ensure a swift response.
Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah both condemned the incident, assuring the public that stringent action will be taken. Mr. Sinha confirmed that the army and police have launched a massive search operation, while CM Abdullah expressed his disbelief and sorrow, terming the perpetrators as “inhuman and worthy of contempt.”
The condition of the injured is currently being monitored at the local district hospital, where health officials and ministers are overseeing medical arrangements.
The nation stands united in grief and resolve, reaffirming its stand against terrorism.
