PM Modi Inaugurates Global Investors Summit 2025, Calls MP a Land of “Infinite Possibilities”
Bhopal, January 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the ‘Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit 2025’ in Bhopal, hailing the state as a land of “infinite possibilities” for investors and industrialists. The event, attended by global business leaders and policymakers, aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a premier investment destination and accelerate its journey toward becoming a key contributor to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said, “I am delighted to welcome you all to this land of Raja Bhoj. Many investors from various fields have come here today. This event is very important in making the journey from a developed Madhya Pradesh to a developed India.”
Global Confidence in India’s Growth Story
The Prime Minister emphasized that global confidence in India’s economic trajectory is at an all-time high. Citing recent reports, he said, “The World Bank has predicted that India will continue to be the world’s fastest-growing economy in the coming years. A representative from the OECD has said that the future of the world lies in India. A UN organization on climate change has recognised India as a ‘superpower of solar power.’”
The World Bank’s Global Economic Prospects report recently reaffirmed India’s position as the fastest-growing major economy for the next two years, further bolstering investor confidence.
Madhya Pradesh’s Transformation
PM Modi outlined the state’s remarkable transformation over the past two decades, highlighting significant improvements in electricity, water supply, and law and order. “Two decades ago, people used to stay away from investing here, and now it is among the top states in the country for investment,” he said.
He underscored the state’s infrastructure growth, including a 5-lakh-kilometer road network and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which passes through Madhya Pradesh, enhancing connectivity to Mumbai’s ports and northern markets.
Clean Energy and Electric Vehicle Growth
Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a leader in clean energy, with a power generation capacity of 31,000 MW, 30% of which comes from renewable sources. The state is home to the Rewa Solar Park and the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Plant, both flagship projects in India’s renewable energy landscape.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the state’s rapid growth in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, with a 90% increase in EV adoption and nearly 200,000 EVs registered by January 2025.
Modernizing Connectivity
PM Modi stressed the ongoing modernization of the state’s rail and air connectivity. He mentioned the expansion of airport terminals in Gwalior and Jabalpur and the 100% electrification of the state’s railway network. “The pictures of Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal still captivate everyone. Eighty railway stations in Madhya Pradesh are being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme,” he said.
Ken-Betwa River Linking Project
The Prime Minister highlighted the ₹45,000 crore Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, which aims to improve irrigation for 1 million hectares of agricultural land. “This will increase the productivity of 10 lakh hectares of agricultural land and give new strength to water management in Madhya Pradesh. Such facilities will unlock huge potential in the food processing, agriculture, and textile sectors,” he said.
Ease of Doing Business
Discussing economic reforms, PM Modi noted that the government has removed 40,000 compliance requirements and scrapped 1,500 outdated laws. The newly proposed **State Deregulation Commission** aims to further improve the ease of doing business, making Madhya Pradesh an even more attractive destination for investors.
Chief Minister’s Vision
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reiterated the state’s commitment to doubling its economy in the next five years. “With the organization of the Global Investors Summit here, Madhya Pradesh will establish its identity as a major global investment destination,” he said.
A five-minute video showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and investment potential was screened before the PM’s address, highlighting the state’s readiness to welcome global investors.

The Global Investors Summit 2025 marks a new chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s journey toward becoming a powerhouse of industrial and economic growth. With its robust infrastructure, clean energy initiatives, and investor-friendly policies, the state is poised to play a pivotal role in India’s ambition to become a developed nation by 2047.
As PM Modi aptly concluded, “This is the time, and the right time, to invest in Madhya Pradesh.”
