Government Lifts Temporary Suspension on 32 Airports Across India
New Delhi, 12 May 2025: In a significant update under the ambit of Operation Sindoor, the Government of India has officially lifted the temporary suspension imposed on 32 airports across the country. The Airports Authority of India (AAI), through a press release issued today, announced that these airports are now open for civil aircraft operations with immediate effect.
The temporary closure, which was in effect until 05:29 hrs of 15 May 2025, was part of an undisclosed security or strategic operation presumed to be linked to Operation Sindoor. Though specific details regarding the operation remain classified, the resumption of flight activities indicates the normalization of the situation.
Passengers who were impacted by this unexpected shutdown are advised to check their flight status directly with airlines and stay updated via airline websites and official communication channels.
This move comes as a relief to thousands of travellers who faced disruptions over the past few days. Airlines are expected to gradually resume regular services at all 32 airports.
