Odisha Braces for Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Dana’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is gearing up to face the potential impact of severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana,’ which is expected to make landfall on Thursday morning. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of residents, particularly in coastal districts that are likely to be the most affected.

The state government has launched comprehensive preparedness efforts, including the provision of essential supplies and healthcare services to vulnerable areas. Special focus is being given to evacuation plans, shelter management, and timely medical assistance.

High-level meetings were held in Bhubaneswar to streamline coordination between government bodies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to mitigate the storm’s impact. Officials emphasized proactive planning to minimize casualties and infrastructure damage.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) have both been placed on high alert. Teams are ready for rapid deployment to ensure swift response and rescue operations in case of any emergencies.

Coastal communities are being advised to follow government directives, stay informed through official updates, and move to cyclone shelters if necessary. Fishermen have been instructed to avoid venturing into the sea until further notice.

As the landfall approaches, Odisha’s residents are urged to remain vigilant and prepared. The government has assured the public that all essential resources are in place to tackle the storm’s aftermath effectively.
