Murgao BJP Mandal Declares New Committee Under Adv. Avinash Naik
Mormugao, March 15: In a significant political development, Murgao BJP Mandal President Adv. Avinash Naik announced the new Mandal committee for the next three years in the presence of Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar. With this declaration, Murgao becomes the first constituency in Goa to announce its Mandal committee for the next term.
The newly constituted committee comprises 31 members, with key appointments as follows:

The committee consist of Adv Avinash Naik. President, Sanjay Parab Vice Presiden, Yogesh Patil Vice President, Ninad Gadekar, Jagdish Gawande, Deepak Mhalsekar, Alka Asolkar, Sharmila Koshy, Shantaram Paradkar, Shradha Kaskar it also includes 21 other members: Uma Hiremath, Anita Gawde, Samir Chodankar, Mahesh Mesta, Rashid Khan, Shabana Shaikh (Shoba), Kushal Chodankar, Rohit Mochemadkar, Seby Fernandes, Nilesh Redkar, Rajesh Nair, Prajot Vengurlekar, Sonal Mesta, Sumitra Naik, Zameer Shaikh, Ashok Paleykar, Ravlu Pednekar, Sushant Naik, Vaibhavi Matonkar, Daxata Tari, and Sujata Chipkar.
MLA Sankalp Amonkar’s Address
Speaking at the event, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar congratulated all the newly appointed members. He highlighted the BJP’s vision of nurturing a second line of leadership, emphasizing that most committee members are under the age of 45. He also noted that two members from this committee have been inducted into the district-level BJP committee and extended his best wishes to them.
Coal Pollution and Infrastructure Development
Addressing environmental concerns, Amonkar reiterated his firm stand against coal pollution. He stated that he had imposed strict mandates on Jindal South West (JSW) by instillation of Dome structure for coal.handling and assured that Adani Group would soon follow similar regulations. Taking a dig at his critics, he remarked that some leaders who served three terms and even held ministerial positions failed to curb coal pollution but are now blaming him for the issue.
On infrastructure development, Amonkar mentioned that despite opposition, a Primary Health Centre (PHC) is now becoming a reality in Mormugao. He also criticized a proposal by certain councillors to build a petrol pump on the PHC site, a resolution he successfully revoked with the Chief Minister’s support.
Reaffirming his commitment to Mormugao’s development, Amonkar stated, “I have been working tirelessly for the people and will continue to do so in the future.”
The announcement of the Murgao BJP Mandal committee marks a new phase of leadership in the constituency, with a strong focus on youth empowerment and developmental policies.
