Konkan Railway Announces Additional Special Trains for Summer 2025
Mumbai, April 2025: In a move to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the summer season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of additional special trains. This initiative aims to ease travel for passengers, especially for the “Chakarmane”—people working in Mumbai and suburban areas who travel to their ancestral villages in Konkan during vacations.
Special Train Details:
1) Train No. 01051/01052 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Karmali – Lokmanya Tilak (T) AC Special Weekly
- Train No. 01051 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminal – Karmali AC Special Weekly) will depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminal at 22:15 hrs every Friday from April 11, 2025, to May 23, 2025 and will arrive at Karmali at 12:00 hrs the next day.
- Train No. 01052 (Karmali – Lokmanya Tilak Terminal AC Special Weekly) will depart from Karmali at 14:30 hrs every Saturday from April 12, 2025, to May 24, 2025 and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminal at 04:05 hrs the next day.
Halts:
The train will halt at Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, and Thivim.
Train Composition:
The train will consist of 20 LHB Coaches, including:
- 08 AC Two-Tier Coaches
- 10 AC Three-Tier Coaches
- 02 Generator Cars
Booking Information:
Bookings for Train No. 01052 will open on April 8, 2025, at all Passenger Reservation Systems (PRS), online at IRCTC website, and via the NTES App.
Passengers are encouraged to make their reservations early to ensure a comfortable journey. Every year, there is a massive rush of passengers, especially those from Konkan, returning home for vacations. This additional train service is expected to provide significant relief to travelers.
