Inter Kashi FC Crowned I-League 2024-25 Champions Following CAS Ruling
New Delhi, July 18, 2025 – The All India Football Federation (AIFF) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Inter Kashi FC for being declared champions of the I-League 2024-25 season, following a landmark ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Friday, July 18, 2025. #AIFFCongratulatesInterKashi
The CAS partially upheld an appeal filed by Inter Kashi FC against Churchill Brothers FC Goa, Namdhari FC, Real Kashmir FC, and the AIFF, overturning a previous decision by the AIFF Appeal Committee. The ruling mandates that the AIFF adjust the I-League 2024-25 points table, confirming Inter Kashi FC as the rightful winners.
The dispute originated when the AIFF Appeal Committee, on May 31, 2025, ruled that Inter Kashi FC’s registration of foreign player Marco Barco was invalid, leading to the forfeiture of matches in which he played. This decision reshuffled the league standings, placing Churchill Brothers FC Goa at the top. However, Inter Kashi FC challenged this ruling by filing an appeal with CAS on June 23, 2025.
Following a hearing on July 15, 2025, the CAS Panel set aside the AIFF Appeal Committee’s decision, reinstating Inter Kashi FC’s points. The updated I-League 2024-25 standings now reflect Inter Kashi FC at the top with 42 points, followed by Churchill Brothers FC Goa (40 points), Real Kashmir FC (37 points), and Namdhari FC (29 points).
Additionally, CAS had previously overturned an AIFF Appeal Committee decision on June 17, 2025, lifting a sanction against Namdhari FC for fielding an ineligible player. The CAS upheld Inter Kashi FC’s appeal, confirming the AIFF Disciplinary Committee’s initial ruling that the match between Namdhari FC and Inter Kashi FC on January 13, 2025, be recorded as a 0-3 forfeit in favor of Inter Kashi FC.
The AIFF commends Inter Kashi FC for their resilience and determination throughout the season and this legal process. This victory marks a historic moment for the club and its supporters, cementing their place as champions of the I-League 2024-25.
