India’s Largest Hospitality Skilling Centre to be Established in Goa
IHCL and Goa’s Skill Development Directorate Sign Landmark MoU
Goa witnessed a historic moment today as the Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (Taj Group) and the Directorate of Skill Development, Goa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish India’s largest hospitality skilling centre in the state. The initiative aims to create enhanced employment opportunities for Goa’s youth by providing world-class training in the hospitality sector.
The MoU was signed in the presence of key dignitaries, including Education Secretary Shri Prasad Lolyekar, Director of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri S. S. Gaonkar, and Managing Director & CEO of IHCL Shri Puneet Chhatwal, among others.
Empowering Goa’s Workforce in Hospitality
This collaboration aligns with the government’s vision of Skilling, Reskilling, and Upskilling young professionals, ensuring they are well-prepared for the evolving tourism and hospitality industry. The initiative will leverage IHCL’s industry expertise to equip Goa’s youth with specialized training, enhancing their career prospects and contributing to the state’s economic growth.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating:
“The signing of this MoU between Indian Hotels Company Ltd. and the Directorate of Skill Development, Goa, will establish India’s largest hospitality skilling centre, creating new employment opportunities for the youth. This marks a significant step towards building a skilled workforce and ensuring Goa’s leadership in global hospitality.”
