Indian Armed Forces Launch ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’ With Missile Strikes on Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoJK
New Delhi, May 7: In a powerful retaliatory action, the Indian Armed Forces early Wednesday launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, carrying out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The pre-dawn operation targeted critical terrorist infrastructure in Muridke and Bahawalpur, known strongholds of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) respectively.
The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, confirmed that all nine sites were carefully selected and the strikes were focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. Importantly, the Ministry reiterated that no Pakistani military installations were targeted, showcasing India’s calculated restraint.
The strikes come just days after the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali citizen. The Ministry emphasized that the operation is part of a broader commitment to ensure that those responsible are held fully accountable.
The strikes also coincided with a nationwide security mock drill scheduled for later today across 244 districts, aimed at strengthening civil defence mechanisms in the event of a hostile attack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, responding to the Pahalgam massacre, vowed to hunt down the perpetrators and conspirators to the “ends of the earth”, promising punishment “beyond their imagination.”
