Goan Athletes Shine at 38th National Games, Bring Home 4 Medals in Laser Run
Panaji, Goa – Goa’s athletes made the state proud with their stellar performance at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. The Laser Run team, in particular, showcased exceptional talent and teamwork, securing four medals for Goa. Their remarkable achievements have been celebrated across the state, with Sports Minister Govind Gaude leading the felicitation ceremony to honor the medalists.
The athletes’ hard work, dedication, and team spirit were lauded by Minister Gaude, who said, “These medals are a testament to the relentless efforts of our athletes, their coaches, and the support of their families. Goa is proud of your achievements, and you have set an inspiring example for the next generation of sportspersons.”

Babu Arjun Gaonkar emerged as a standout performer, winning two silver medals in the individual and team events. Reflecting on his achievement, he said, “This success is the result of months of rigorous training and the unwavering support of my teammates and coaches. I am grateful to the Goa government for recognizing our efforts.”
Neha Naguesh Gaonkar, who was part of the silver-winning mixed relay team and the bronze-winning women’s team, added, “Competing at the national level is always challenging, but our team’s unity and determination helped us bring home these medals. This is a proud moment for all of us.”
