Goa Port & Dock Employees Union Elects New Office Bearers Unopposed

The Goa Port & Dock Employees Union (GPDEU) successfully conducted its election process for the posts of President, General Secretary, and Treasurer for the 2025–2027 tenure. The election was overseen by Shri Shailendra Govekar, the Returning Officer.
After a thorough scrutiny of nomination forms and the withdrawal process, it was confirmed that only one valid nomination was received for each position. As a result, the following candidates were elected unopposed:
1. President – Shri Abhay G. Rane
2. General Secretary – Shri Balkrishna Phaldessai
3. Treasurer – Shri Vago Suzare

The Goa Port & Dock Employees Union, established in 1977 and registered under the Trade Union Act of 1926, plays a crucial role in safeguarding the rights and welfare of dock workers. It is affiliated with the Hind Mazdoor Sabha and the All India Port & Dock Workers Federation.
With the leadership of Shri Abhay G. Rane, Shri Balkrishna Phaldessai, and Shri Vago Suzare, the union aims to continue its efforts in ensuring better working conditions, fair wages, and strong representation for its members in Goa’s port and dock sector.
