Goa Government Urges Private Security Agencies to Register Online

Panaji, Goa – February 9, 2025: The Department of Home, Government of Goa, has urged all private security agencies operating in the state to register themselves online on the official portal www.psara.gov.in. The department has warned that operating without proper registration is a punishable offense, which may attract a fine of ₹25,000, imprisonment of up to one year, or both.

In an official statement, the Home Department emphasized the importance of compliance with the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA). All establishments in Goa have been advised to appoint security personnel only through private security agencies that hold a valid PSARA license issued by the state government.

To ensure transparency and legitimacy, citizens and businesses can verify the list of registered private security agencies by visiting the “Know Your Agency” section on the PSARA portal.

The government’s directive aims to regulate the private security sector, enhance security standards, and ensure that agencies meet the required legal framework. The move is expected to curb unregistered agencies that operate without adhering to prescribed safety norms.

For further details, security agencies and businesses are advised to visit the official website or contact the Home Department for guidance on the registration process.
