Goa CM Chairs Crucial Pre-Budget Meeting: Focus on Revenue, Efficiency, and Reforms

Today, the Chief Minister of Goa chaired a pivotal Pre-Budget Meeting at Mantralaya, attended by the Chief Secretary, Secretaries, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) of the Government of Goa. The discussions aimed to craft a balanced and progressive budget that aligns with the state’s vision for development and fiscal sustainability.
Key Highlights of the Meeting:
1️⃣ Exploring New Revenue Sources
The departments have been tasked with identifying innovative ways to boost the state’s revenue. The focus is on leveraging untapped potential and implementing strategies to diversify income streams.
2️⃣ Optimizing Budget Utilization
A strong emphasis was laid on addressing underutilized budgets. Departments have been directed to ensure effective and timely use of allocated resources, reducing inefficiencies and maximizing impact.
3️⃣ Monetizing Assets
Strategies to monetize existing government assets were discussed, with a view to enhancing self-sufficiency and creating new revenue streams for the state.
4️⃣ Reforming Service Delivery
To improve citizen satisfaction and operational efficiency, departments have been urged to reform service delivery processes. Simplified procedures and innovative approaches will play a key role in these reforms.
5️⃣ Periodic Reviews for Enhanced Efficiency
Regular evaluations of Corporations and Autonomous Bodies will be conducted to ensure their performance and relevance align with state goals.
The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stressed the importance of innovation, accountability, and efficiency in both budget preparation and implementation. These efforts aim to build a self-reliant and progressive Goa, ensuring sustainable growth for all sectors.
