Goa Cabinet Approves Heritage Policy, Sanctions Unity Mall & 4G Towers – Key Highlights from CM Dr. Pramod Sawant’s Meeting (11th June 2025)
Porvorim 11 June: In a significant Cabinet meeting held on 11th June 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and his Cabinet announced a series of impactful decisions that pave the way for cultural preservation, infrastructure growth, and international representation for the state of Goa.
Goa State Heritage Policy Approved
In a historic move, the Cabinet has approved the Goa State Heritage Policy, aimed at safeguarding and promoting the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Goa. This policy will guide the conservation of heritage structures, traditional Goan art forms, and promote sustainable heritage tourism.
Monsoon Assembly Session from 22nd July
The Cabinet has decided that the Monsoon Session of the Goa State Legislative Assembly will be summoned from 22nd July 2025. Key legislative matters and public interest issues are expected to be taken up during the session.
Unity Mall at Chimbel Sanctioned
Taking a leap forward in promoting One District One Product (ODOP) and local entrepreneurship, the Cabinet has sanctioned the construction of the Unity Mall in Chimbel. The mall is expected to serve as a hub for showcasing local crafts, products, and tourism-related activities.
Troy Costa to Represent Goa in Italy
Renowned Goan designer Mr. Troy Costa will represent Goa at the Namaste India Milan event in Italy. This international platform will showcase Goan creativity, culture, and fashion, marking a proud moment for the state.
4G Connectivity Boost for Sattari and Sanguem
To bridge the digital divide, two 4G towers have been sanctioned—one each in Sattari and Sanguem. This move is aimed at enhancing mobile connectivity and internet access in these rural areas.
Crematorium Land Identified at Mandrem
In a move addressing a long-pending public demand, the Cabinet has identified 2000 sq. metres of land in Mandrem for the construction of a crematorium. This will provide much-needed facilities for local residents.
