Pernem, North Goa | 16 April 2025, 12:24 AM: Pernem Police Station has officially registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 22/2025) in a grave incident involving an alleged attempt to molest a minor girl and the use of caste-based slurs. The FIR, lodged under Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, has also invoked the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, along with provisions from the Goa Children’s (Amendment) Act, 2005.
