Goa, June 5: In continuation of its mission to ensure safe, hygienic, and licensed food practices across Goa, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has intensified its inspection drive in North Goa, particularly in the Anjuna and Mapusa areas.

During the latest round of inspections, the FDA team conducted surprise checks at 12 food premises, which included fast food joints and food manufacturing units.

Violations and Enforcement:

Despite general improvements across many outlets, Ms Zaiqua and Ms Bobby Fast Food were penalized for non-compliance. The FDA imposed fines of ₹10,000 and ₹8,000 respectively under Section 69 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The operation was spearheaded by Shri Richard Noronha, Designated Officer (North Goa), and supported by officers Rajaram Patil, Amit Mandrekar, Nousin Mulla, and Sneha Gaude, under the supervision of Smt. Shweta Dessai, Director of FDA.

The FDA reiterated its commitment to building a healthier Goa through consistent vigilance and strict enforcement of food safety standards.
