Panaji, Goa: A high-level meeting chaired at Mantralaya focused on the development of Mormugao constituency, with the presence of MLA Shri Sankalp Amonkar and concerned government officials. The meeting reviewed ongoing projects and discussed proposed initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure, tourism, health, and public welfare in the region.
Key Development Projects Discussed:
1. 20-Bedded Primary Health Center (Department of Health) – Plans to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Mormugao.
2. Restoration of Mormugao Fort (Department of Archaeology) – A heritage conservation project to preserve the historic fort.
3. Upgradation of Rose Circle Ground at Headland Sada (Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs) – Focus on improving sports and youth facilities.
4. Issues in Goa Rehabilitation Board Colony, Headland Sada (Goa Rehabilitation Board) – Addressing concerns related to housing and amenities.
5. Enhancing Facilities for Fishermen in Baina & Desterro (Department of Fisheries) – Ensuring better infrastructure for the fishing community.
6. Tourism Development Projects (GTDC) – Plans to boost Mormugao as a major tourism hub.
7. Infrastructure and Road Works (Public Works Department – PWD) – Improving roads, water supply, and public utilities.
8. Water Resource Management & Irrigation Projects (WRD) – Strengthening water infrastructure and flood management.
Apart from these, various other developmental issues related to different departments were also addressed.
