Delta Ports and Mormugao Terminal Pvt. Ltd. Achieve All-Time Loading Record at Mormugao Port, Goa

Goa, June 18: In a historic milestone for maritime logistics in Goa, Delta Ports and Mormugao Terminal Private Ltd. (MTPL), the PPP operator at Mormugao Port Authority, has set an all-time record by loading 30,581 Metric Tonnes (MT) of Iron Ore Pellets in just 24 hours onto the vessel MV Vishva Chetna at Berth No. X.

The vessel was berthed on June 16th (PM hours) and is scheduled to load a total cargo of 67,500 MT of Iron Ore Pellets for MRPPL. This record-breaking performance showcases the operator’s exceptional handling capabilities, commitment to operational efficiency, and robust coordination at one of India’s oldest and strategically vital ports.

This achievement is also significant in light of recent developments where Berth Nos. 10 and 11 were officially handed over to Delta Ports by the Mormugao Port Authority under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Historically, these berths handled multi-cargo operations. With enhanced infrastructure and private participation, the port is now witnessing a surge in capacity and performance benchmarks.

“This feat is a proud moment for all of us and reinforces Mormugao’s standing as a key gateway for iron ore exports,” said a spokesperson from MTPL. “Kudos to our hardworking team whose dedication made this possible.”

The achievement also underscores the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways’ vision to modernize port infrastructure through PPP models, boosting India’s maritime economy.

Hearty congratulations to the entire Delta Ports and MTPL team
