Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lawrence Meets Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to Discuss Healthcare Upgrades in Curtorim

Panaji, Goa – February 21, 2025: Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lawrence held a crucial meeting today with Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, along with key officials, to discuss the enhancement of healthcare facilities in his constituency.

The meeting, held at the Health Minister’s office, was attended by Dr. Rupa Naik (Director, Directorate of Health Services), Pooja Madkaikar (Under Secretary), Dr. Geeta Deshmukh (Health Advisor), Frazella De Araujo (Advisor to the Health Minister), and Dr. Vallabh Nadkarni (Health Officer, Curtorim).

A major focus of the discussion was the establishment of a dialysis unit at the Curtorim Health Centre, ensuring that residents no longer need to travel long distances for essential treatment. MLA Reginaldo Lawrence emphasized the urgency of making the small operation theatre fully functional, which would facilitate safe deliveries and timely medical procedures at the center.

Additionally, plans for the relocation and construction of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) were deliberated, with Vishwajit Rane expressing his full support for improving the region’s healthcare infrastructure.

Speaking after the meeting, MLA Reginaldo Lawrence stated:
“With the Minister’s support, we are set to upgrade the Curtorim Health Centre. Establishing a dialysis unit is our top priority, ensuring that patients receive essential treatment within their own community. We also aim to make the small operation theatre fully functional, enhancing maternal and emergency care at the center itself. Strengthening healthcare in Curtorim remains my key commitment.”

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane reaffirmed the government’s dedication, saying:
“Had a productive meeting on the progress of the Health Centre in Curtorim with MLA Reginaldo Lourenco and key health officials. A dialysis unit is a priority, along with making the operation theatre functional for safe deliveries and emergency procedures. We are keen to strengthen healthcare in Curtorim and remain committed to bringing better medical facilities to the people.”

The government’s proactive approach towards healthcare development in Curtorim is expected to bring much-needed relief and convenience to the residents.
