Margao 23 August 2025: Margao Congress Block Convener, Mr. Savio Coutinho, has raised serious allegations of irregularities in the ongoing recruitment process for posts under the Margao Municipal Council (MMC).
Mr. Coutinho has demanded complete transparency from the MMC Chief Officer, urging the Council to immediately make public the total number of applications received, along with the lists of accepted and rejected candidates.
According to him, the recruitment applications received in the first week of November 2024 were allegedly tampered with by vested interests. He claimed that despite the written tests being scheduled for 23rd and 24th August at centers in Navelim, Cuncolim, and Porvorim, many eligible candidates have not received their call letters.
“This is nothing but a ploy to deliberately keep candidates away from appearing for the exams, thereby benefiting certain vested groups,” Mr. Coutinho alleged.
He further cautioned that the Margao Congress Block is closely monitoring the recruitment process and will not tolerate any attempt to “play fraud with the youth” who are earnestly seeking government jobs based on merit.
