CM Pramod Sawant Inaugurates Swayampurna Goa Saras 2025, Encourages Women Entrepreneurs
Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Swayampurna Goa Saras 2025 at Kala Academy, Panaji, in a grand event that brought together trade and culture. The occasion also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Model Cluster Level Federation. The event was graced by the presence of Rural Development Minister Shri Govind Gaude, GM NABARD Shri Sandeep Dharkar, and other distinguished dignitaries.
During the event, CM Sawant felicitated Lakhpati Didis, women entrepreneurs linked to Self-Help Groups (SHGs), best-performing farm livelihood SHG members, best-performing Bank Sakhis, and members of the Cluster Level Federation. These women have demonstrated exceptional financial discipline and entrepreneurship, contributing significantly to Goa’s economic growth.
Highlighting Goa’s vision for self-reliance, CM Sawant emphasized the state’s goal of increasing the number of SHGs to 5,000, with 1 lakh women joining the movement. He commended the women entrepreneurs for achieving 100% repayment of SHG loans, reflecting their commitment to financial responsibility.
Key financial figures underscoring the success of the SHG movement in Goa include:
✅ ₹828.04 lakh as a revolving fund to enhance financial inclusion at the grassroots level.
✅ ₹337.37 crore disbursed through bank linkages.
✅ ₹20.15 crore allocated as a community investment fund.
CM Sawant encouraged citizens to visit the Goa Saras exhibition and support women entrepreneurs in their journey toward economic empowerment. “Swayampurna Goa Saras 2025 is a step towards self-sufficiency and financial independence for women. Let’s contribute to this vision,” he remarked.
The event reaffirmed the Goa government’s commitment to empowering women through financial inclusion and entrepreneurial opportunities, paving the way for a self-reliant and prosperous state.
