Bondla, Goa – In a major boost to eco-tourism and sustainable forest initiatives, the much-awaited Bondla Eco-Cottages were inaugurated today. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, these serene cottages provide an ideal retreat for nature lovers, blending comfort with conservation.
To enhance visitor convenience, a dedicated cottage booking website was also launched, streamlining the reservation process for tourists seeking an immersive forest experience. This initiative aligns with Goa’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly tourism while preserving its rich biodiversity.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Smt Deviya Rane Chairperson of the Goa Forest Development Corporation and MLA of Poriem, alongside other dignitaries, including Shri Umakant M Gawade, Zila Panchayat Member, Usgaon; Shri Ramnath Dangui, Sarpanch, V. P. Usgaon; Shri Kamal Datta, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests; and Shri Praveen Kumar Raghav, IFS, Chief Wildlife Warden, among other forest officials.
Speaking at the event, Smt Deviya Rane emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering responsible tourism that harmonizes with nature. “These eco-cottages are a step towards sustainable development, ensuring that tourism contributes to forest conservation rather than depleting our natural resources,” she stated.
The Bondla Eco-Cottages project is expected to attract wildlife enthusiasts, bird watchers, and travelers seeking a tranquil escape into nature. With state-of-the-art amenities designed to minimize environmental impact, the cottages serve as a model for eco-conscious tourism in Goa.
