BJP to Announce New National President by Mid-March, Woman Leader from South Likely

New Delhi, March 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to announce its new national president by mid-March, likely on the 15th or 16th, following the completion of organizational elections in over 13 states. Daggubati Purandeshwari, 66, has emerged as a strong contender. A former Congress leader who joined the BJP in 2014, she brings significant experience in organizational affairs. Currently serving as the BJP chief in Andhra Pradesh, she is recognized for her articulate leadership and deep political acumen. She is also known as the “Sushma Swaraj of the South” for her exceptional oratory skills and fluency in five languages, which has earned her wide acceptance within the party.

If the BJP appoints a woman from the South, it will be seen as a strategic move to expand its influence in the region, where it has been working to strengthen its base.
