Badminton Tournament Marks National Sports Day 2025 in South Goa

Navelim, Goa 30 August 2025: As part of the #NationalSportsDay2025 celebrations, a Badminton Tournament for Government officials of South Goa District was successfully organised at the Navelim Stadium under the #FitIndiaMission initiative.

The event was a joint effort by the Collectorate, South Goa, District Police, South Goa, and the Department of Sports, with the core objective of promoting health, fitness, and camaraderie among government officials.

Shri Shripad Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ports, River, Navigation, and Tourism, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event also witnessed the presence of Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Collector South Goa, Shri Tikam Singh Verma, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Goa, along with other dignitaries and enthusiastic participants.

The tournament saw vibrant participation from officials across departments, reinforcing the values of team spirit, wellness, and togetherness. The initiative not only highlighted the importance of sports in daily life but also encouraged officials to lead by example in embracing fitness as a way of life.
