Amit Shah Reviews #Census2025 Preparations; Gazette Notification Out Tomorrow

New Delhi, June 15:
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi today to review the preparations for the upcoming Census 2025. Senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Registrar General of India, and allied departments were present during the strategic session aimed at ensuring smooth execution of India’s largest population data exercise.

The official Gazette notification for Census 2025 will be published tomorrow, setting the stage for a historic, digital-first Census — the 16th overall and the 8th since India’s independence.

In a significant technological leap, this edition will feature mobile app-based data collection. Citizens will also have the option for self-enumeration through a secure digital platform — a first in India’s Census history.

To ensure nationwide coverage, the Census will involve the deployment of:

  • 👮‍♂️ Over 34 lakh enumerators and supervisors
