Aam Aadmi Party Demands Judicial Probe into Unnatural Deaths at BITS Pilani Goa Campus

Vasco September 4, 2025:  The Aam Aadmi Party Vasco Leader Adv Sunil Loran  is deeply disturbed by the recent series of unnatural deaths at the BITS Pilani Goa campus, which has claimed five student lives in the past nine months. He said These tragic incidents have raised serious concerns about student welfare, campus support systems, and the institution’s ability to ensure a safe environment for its students.

In light of these disturbing incidents, we demand a thorough and transparent judicial probe headed by a retired high court judge to investigate the circumstances surrounding these unnatural deaths. The probe should focus on Identifying the underlying reasons behind these tragedies, including academic pressure, mental health issues, and lack of support systems.

Examining the role of the institution in ensuring student safety and well-being, including the effectiveness of existing support systems and emergency response protocols. Investigating whether the government has taken adequate measures to address concerns about student safety and welfare in educational institutions.
To prevent such incidents in the future, we urge the institution and government to take concrete actions, including
Enhancing Mental Health Support: Providing accessible and confidential mental health services, including counseling and therapy, to support students struggling with academic pressure, stress, or personal issues.

Implementing Safety Protocols: Developing and implementing effective safety protocols, including emergency response plans, to ensure student safety on campus.
Fostering a Supportive Environment: Creating a supportive and inclusive campus environment that encourages students to seek help when needed, without fear of stigma or repercussions.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the students who have lost their lives. We demand that the institution and government provide adequate support and compensation to these families during this difficult time.

The Aam Aadmi Party is committed to ensuring that the voices of students and their families are heard, and that their concerns are addressed. We will continue to monitor the situation and push for accountability and systemic changes to safeguard student welfare at BITS Pilani Goa and other educational institutions.
