Delhi, October 21: Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the eShram portal, a one-stop solution for unorganized workers, in a special event held in the capital. The initiative aims to streamline access to social security schemes and welfare benefits for millions of workers in the unorganized sector across India.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Mandaviya highlighted the growing trust in the eShram platform, revealing that approximately 60,000 to 90,000 new workers are joining the portal every day. He emphasized that the platform is designed to provide seamless access to various government schemes and benefits aimed at uplifting unorganized workers.
“The eShram portal is a crucial step toward ensuring that unorganized workers receive the benefits they deserve. I urge all workers in the unorganized sector to register on the portal and take full advantage of the available welfare schemes,” Mr. Mandaviya stated.
The primary goal of eShram is to effectively integrate information on beneficiaries of all welfare programs and social security initiatives targeting unorganized workers into a unified digital platform. This will enable better delivery of services and ensure that workers remain well-informed about the schemes relevant to them.
By encouraging mass participation, the government hopes to enhance the visibility of these workers, enabling more effective policy formulation and long-term development.
