The work of desilting the drain in Dabolim has been started on war footing. Minister Mauvin Godhino who has taken up the pre-monsoon removal of silt from the drains in Vasco Wade, Mercy Ward and Chicalim – Bogmalo panchayat areas.
The State Water Resources Department has started desilting the Dabolim drain. The silt in the main drains of Vaddem, Chaferan and Mercy wardareas is being treated on a war footing. A few years ago, the church area of Merseys ward area used to get flooded during monsoons because the silt from the drains of Merseys ward, Chaferan area was not removed before monsoons. Due to this, there was a flood-prone situation in Merseys ward area. Dabolim MLA and Guardian Minister Mauvin Godinho through the State Water Resources Department took up the task of removing the silt from all the drains in this area.
Pre-monsoon works in Daboli are going on at war level under the leadership of local MLA and Guardian Minister Mauvin Gudinho. Wards 22, 23, 24, 25 and Chikhli, Chikolana Bogmalo panchayat areas of Murgaon municipality are being handled properly. Pre-monsoon works in Daboli will be completed next week.
