Dehradun, Uttarakhand – June 14, 2025: The Indian Army today welcomed 419 young officers into its proud ranks, as the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun hosted a grand Passing Out Parade (POP) at its iconic Chetwode Building.

In a majestic display of military tradition and precision, 451 Gentleman Cadets marched forward with pride and purpose. Of these, 32 cadets hailed from friendly foreign nations, marking the culmination of their rigorous training in India. These international cadets will now return to their home countries to serve in their respective armed forces, carrying with them the values and spirit of the IMA.

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General B.K.G.M. Lasantha Rodrigo, Chief of the Sri Lankan Army, who was invited as the Reviewing Officer. Addressing the cadets, he commended their commitment, discipline, and excellence, and praised the Indian Army for its legacy of professionalism and training excellence.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of top honours:

Annie Nehra received the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’, awarded for overall excellence in training.
Ronit Ranjan Nayak topped the Order of Merit and was awarded the Gold Medal.
Annie Nehra stood second overall.
Anurag Verma ranked third and received the Bronze Medal.

The Passing Out Parade was marked by thunderous applause from proud families, faculty, and dignitaries. The event reflected the valor, tradition, and ethos of the Indian Armed Forces, instilling pride in every Indian.

As the new officers took the “Antim Pag” (final step) and crossed the historic Chetwode Drill Square, the air resonated with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”—a salute to their undying commitment to serve the nation.
